Chameleons are reptiles that belong to the suborder of iguanas. These colorful lizards are known as one of the few animals that can change the color of their skin. However, it is a misconception that chameleons adapt their colors to their environment. In fact, a chameleon's skin changes color in response to its emotions, such as anger or fear, as well as changes in light, temperature or humidity.
